A prospective client recently chose another web developer over our estimate based on the fact that they charge no setup fee, and only $150 per month! They also claim that this developer has done a bunch of industry-specific sites similar to theirs. Okay, I'll buy that one (kinda). But Sitecats not only develops any type of e-commerce or database driven website, but we're also available during business hours with helpful support and training unmatched by our competition.
Let's say we estimated a 60 item shopping cart system at $4500.00 and $18.70* per month ecommerce secure server hosting. The math shows that in the company's third year of service with our competitor (35 months), they've already reached our price. Hmm. It just occurred to me that perhaps they don't plan on being around past 2011.

Etc.. you get my point. And this chart is assuming they never raise the fee. The proof is in the math. Be smart. Choose the Cat.
Sounds like sour grapes, I know. But we really want the best deal for
our customers' investment to be accompanied by great available and
local service. Be very wary of 'pay a little now and get all this'
deals. Haven't we learned that from the mortgage fiasco ?! (Apologies
to my friends who, like 7% of all Americans don't believe there is a recession looming. Please
return to your golden shorefront condo. See you in September.)
